I've got a Terrova 80# US/AP hooked up to LCX25. I will randomly lose my depth reading. Unit reads zero feet. Somtimes disonnecting the universal sonar adapter cable and reconnecting it will get my depth reading back, sometimes it will work after jiggling the sonar plug connector. Any of you guys ever experience this? MInn kota says it might be the transducer and to take it to a service center. It sounds to me like the problem is with the short adapter cable connection. Any way leaving on a fishing trip in 9 days doesn't allow me much time to have service center play around with it. Any info., experiences, advice appreciated.
Thanks

How often does it happen, and how long does it last? Does it ever come back on it's own?

I have had mine (connected to a Lowrance 332) blink from time to time; no depth data, just flashing. But it is quite infrequent and only lasts a couple of seconds. I don't think it's ever given a "0" indication for a depth though...

Someimes it will begin to read depth on its own ,but generally you have to wiggle the connection or reconnect the sonar plug to get a depth reading. Just spoke to a service guy. He thinks its either the adapter wire or the transducer, but he's leaning toward the wire.

I only have about 3 hours on my Terrova so far with no problems. I should know more after this weekend of fishing.

It sounds like your service tech might be right Matt. One thing you could try (if you haven't already) is to unplug and plug all connections several times--maybe even use some dielectic grease on the connections as well. If none of that works, I would just take it in.
