| im trying to find a new trolling motor for a 14ft fiberglass boat. i was thinking of something like 40lbs. minnkota powerdrive v2. too small? any other suggestions? | |

| Two suggestions, make sure the prop will stay in the water when you get into waves and get the most power you can fit on the boat. I picked up a used 16 ft tuffy with a 44 lb unit. It will work but in a wind I would like a little more.
You should be able to get up to about 55 lbs on a 12 volt system. I will be looking in that range when I get the money to change out the one I have now. | |
