Location: Grand Rapids MN | Ok, I am going to break down and buy a double #10 blade tail and wanted to know what most of you prefer for skirt, silicon or flashbou. I heard the flashbou can be troublesome over time so that's why I am looking a silicon also but I dig the flash and flow of the bou. Any insight as to what brand, MM products or DC-10 for example, would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Mike |

Location: big cove tannery pa | I have a dc-10,they arent bad too throw, looks real nice in the water, skirting flutters real nicely,i havent caught anything yet but i will. I added a 3/0 hook above the skirting for added hooking percentaGE, might not be necessary but but i thought it was
tight lines |

Location: The Sportsman, home, or out on the water | Go with Gerry Carroll's products. Top-notch work. Gerry's girls and Gerry's kids are better than anything available anywhere. Gerry is the master at tyeing anything and everything, and you don't need to "kickstart" his tails, like alot of stuff out there. Now, if the guy would only start doing spinnerbaits (hint, hint, HINT). |

My Llungen DC-10's work very well. The skirts on my Musky Mayhem Sili Girls tend to get tangled very easily. Who's to say that the skirts on these different lures are made of the same silicon material (which they obviously are not)....
Just my own experience.

| Weighting and Spacing. Tangles can be minimized with some modifications here and there. How the hook lays along the shaft of the bait makes a difference too. I like rubber /silicone for the durability and color fastness and flashabou for the same reasons, but the action of marabou just cant be duplicated. Personal preference and confidence. Steve |

Location: north central wisconsin | Seems the biggees like the hair model GP thumper AC-10 lures this year just fine. Hair fluffs up just as good as the other materials and doesn't tie around the hook much at all. Also, a combo of some of the above is pretty cool. Seems that distance between skirting and blades is as important as anything. Lets see a pic or two when you make them. |
