| Im wondering whats the best way to remove paint from hard plastic baits like jerkos to prepare them for re painting of a new color,,,is their a chemical,, or do you just sand,,,what gritt or multiple grits??? | |

| Sand.................virgin laquer thinner will work as well, from what I understand MEK would also probably work but I hear that is some wicked stuff to work with. | |

| you could paint right over if the paints secure. every paint jobs like a sandwhich. good sealing artwork then clearcoat. | |

Location: Hyvinkää, Finland, Europe | I usually first scratch lacque and paints carefully away by blade of knife (I keep blade straight through to the lure) and after that sanding.
Then one or two covers of lacque, new painting, few more covers of lacque and it's ready. | |

Location: The Sportsman, home, or out on the water | I do what Jio said, unless the bait was e-tex'd. you can also use heat (a little goes a long way), then the knife. if it is a glider and e-tex'd, I paint and clear over the e-tex (unless the clear was compromised). | |
