Location: PGH PA | This is not really about Muskie boats, but I would really appreciate some input on a boat I want to buy. I have limited room in my garage and lookning for something to put around in on the small PA lakes. My question is...is this a good deal? I'm looking at it Friday and wasent sure about the price
12' Meyers fishing boat - Newly painted. in VERY GOOD condition. Registration stickers also new-good till March 2008. The inside of boat is carpeted.
Comes with Trailer-also newly painted. Trailer registered till May 2008 as well.
Boat comes with everything you need to go fishing right away:
6hp Johnson Motor-runs good
I added a 6 and half foot carpeted deck to the front half of the boat on 5/20 to give plenty of room to walk around while fishing.
Brand new transom saver(Bought last week)
Trolling Motor-runs good
New Marine Battery (bought in 2006)
Brand new boat cover (Bought last week)
Gas Tank
2 swivel seats (bought last week.) In the pic, they are not installed yet. The pic is just to show the seat. They will be placed in the normal front/back fishing position in the boat.
Spare tire
2 Oars
Anchor
Whistle and Fire Extinguisher(Required by boat commission on almost all waters)
Asking $1,000
Thanks in advance......

Location: The Sportsman, home, or out on the water | Depending on the width, how high up the casting deck is built, etc., it may be kind of tippy. My old boat was very tippy. everyone had to stand on the centerline of the boat to keep us from falling out.
However, a boat is a boat, and a boat is freedom (and sometimes slavery). If that is what you can afford, it is in great shape, will bring joy to you and yours, and you will get your money's worth out of it, follow your heart.
Good luck to you. PM me if you have any other questions.

Location: Athens, Ohio | If it was me, I'd be asking the guy why he bought all this stuff for the boat "last week", and now he's selling it?????
Could be some good reasons, I'd just want to hear them: was it the wife / sig.other, lost job, spent too much, or that pesky rattle in the motor turned into a bang? good luck, m
