Prefishing for a walleye tourney on Friday, I was pitching light jigs with a bit of crawler to the edge of the cane. Out from the cane, I saw a big fish swirl, and picked up a heavier jig, and put a full fat crawler on it. Casted out in front of the fish, and it rocketed to the offering, and ate! I set the hook, and nearly 15 minutes later I water released a nice 42" Pogan Muskie! My first jig Muskie!

No pics, but I did call JoMusky. He told me to ....well, you know! I forgot it was only Friday, and he was working. hehehe

Now wait a minute Shep! Being the muskie elitist that you are, are you trying to tell us your taking credit for a muskie caught on what kind of tackle was that? I don't think we can count this in the C&R standings. Congrats on the nice fish!

Great, I've got two grand in fancy colored baits and now I learn you can get muskies on a hook 'n worm! Please don't tell Mauser or he'll be loading up my truck with bobbers for our Wisconsin trip.

Congrats, Shep! Anything with teeth! m

Figures, Shep catches a Muskie out there fishing for walleyes.

I'm going walleye fishing, and that's that.

Hey, this fish counts! This was no accidental fish. I TRIED to catch it. And I did. Don't matter that it came on a 1/4 oz jig, and a big ole juicy crawler. Besides, anytime one can catch a Muskie, while JoMusky is working, well that just adds to the thrill! hehehe

Mikie, 2 grand. That's all? hehehe

Steve, I think you should get over here before the MWC for some GB eyes. We can also go Columbusing for some Bay Muskies.

Oh, and thanks for editing what Jo said. muhahahaha

Shep - I know Jomusky will give you a hard time when he gets back for rubbing it in. He boated a 42 and a 42 3/4 on Saturday at the MRG custom painting tournament for a first place. He is geting back sometime today.

He'll have to give me a hard time tonight at the Sportsman, while grilling burgers and brats! See you there.
