i will be in this area for a week on lost land/teal(quiet lakes) in early august.
I fished it several years ago, loved the lakes, but didn't do as well as i had hoped. thinking of hiring a guide to better learn lakes early in the week to better enjoy my trip. i fish mostly muskie, but also want a multi-species guide who give give me tips on bass/northern/walleye/crappie locations at that time of year for my family. Please list some suggestions and websites if available. Thanks Alot!

Chuck Roehl
715-699-2045
Knows the water and is one of very few guides that does multi-species

I did some research and have narrowed it down to 3 guides Chuck Roehl, John Myhrer, and Joel Tinker. Going to send them emails to see what their experience levels are on the "Quiet Lakes". I would love to hear from anyone who fished with either of them, i'm sure there all good!! i have never hired a guide before, so this is a new experience for me. Thanks-Dward

I went out with Joel Tinker in 2003. He was a fantastic guide. Put me on my first ski and a 5 lb smally!

Personally I'd go with Steve Genson. Great all around angler and knows lost land and teal better than anyone I know. Just my opinion.

I've fished with John Myhre on several occasions, he will definitely teach you alot about those two lakes! Larry Ramsell fishes them both alot also, may want to put him on your list.

Dittos to both Steve Genson & Larry Ramsel being added to the earlier list of Joel, John & Chuck. Heard good things on all, especially Joel & John from a friend, but personaly know Steve, an all-round top-notch multi-species angler and Larry, one of the most knowledgable Muskie men in the world ( I could listen to his tales ALL day )... well, you just could'nt go wrong spending the day on the water with either.

Heck dward, you will likely need a list of 4 or 5 outstanding Guides to find ONE of them with an open date that fits your timeframe in August up that way anyway.

Good luck and good fishing

I bet Tanner Wilds hits these waters too, not sure if Ty Senett does, good names above, just tossing out two really good guides out there in this area.

I don't guide these waters, but I think the two best guides on that system have been left out. Bill "Fuzzy" Shumway and Darrell Neibour are probably the best on those lakes. The other guides mentioned are good guys and friends of mine but I think they would say the same. The only other guy that comes to mind is Mike Brant. He lives on the lake and does some guiding but his other job takes him away from guiding now. Not sure if he could take you out or not.

I fished with John last summer and caught a big 45 and my brother caught a 43 (as well as many other muskies). He is a great guide and a better person. Definitely worth it fishing lakes you don't know!
