Location: oswego, il | I am looking for a new motel when I head up north. I like the mercer area but won't be staying at the big motel anymore do to their clientel. Somplace cheap and with available electric would be a must, looking at all areas at the moment. I know of one cheap place in three lakes, just trying to get some good info on motels. |

| Hey Todd, When I read your post about the ATV's I knew right away where you were staying! Seems drunken snowmobilers and drunken ATV'ers are much more of a draw now a days.
In Manitowish there is the Timberline, although it seems kind of fancy, Rich loves having hunters and fishermen in there. He told me they are the best guests!
The other option might be one of the smaller ones just up the road from where you stayed. Also right across the street there were some units that were just re-done that look nice here is the website. http://www.northernexposurenitesinn.net/
Good luck, sorry about the ATV goofs!

Location: Nowheresville, MN | Stayed at the DeerPath motel before on 51 just north of Highway N. I think it's kind of on one of the Greshams, not sure which one. |

i'm sure you've seen it as you drive north on Hwy 51 it's on the lefthand side shortly before you get to Rollie & Helen's right by the old railroad bridge that's the bike trail now.
good central location with easy access to Minocqua and points north as well as Rhinelander to the east, etc.

We rent our cabin to people we know who would take care of it.
Not to mention it's right down the road from Rollie's.

Location: Gurnee, Illinois | Todd, check out the Skyview http://www.skyviewlodge.com/ or Carlin Club in Presque Isle. Top notch staff with lots of muskie knowledge, good food and cheap rates. The rooms are pretty basic, but hopefully you are only there to sleep. Anyone who attended the fall outing can verify.

| Todd--I stay in Mercer all the time---Was just up there last weekend also---Club 51 1 mile north of town--I'm sure you have seen it. Nice and quite usually--no ATVs there last weekend--only like $40--so 1/2 the price of the other one also. I run the ext. cord to my batteries at night and have never had a problem. I got 3 last weekend in Mercer---Nothing very big--36 the largest. JIM I have a couple other places also---send me a note if interested. |

When are you going up there again? We'll be up there next weekend (8,9,10). We are going to set up camp on one of the islands. |

| Todd,
My wife and I own a off-water cabin near Rollie and Helen's on Blue Lake road we have pretty reasonable rates a turn-around driveway firepit and you can cook at home to save money for musky baits and gas. I am sure we could work out a Muskiefirst good guy discount drop me a e-mail anytime. What I really like about our cabin is that at night you do not have to take all your gear inside we are pretty secluded unlike most hotels. |

| Todd,
The St. Germain Lodge is a good bet, albeit out of the way from Mercer.
Since Rob Manthei and his wife Kaye recently bought it I know it will alway's be fisherman freindly.

Location: oswego, il | Brad, no, I did not get up there untill 1:30am. I am cursed as far as getting anywhere to fish on a friday. If I get home early and am ready, my partner is not and we don't leave no earlier than 7:30 sometimes much later. Either way, geting on the road early on a friday just never happens.
Guest, sorry, I forgot to take my crown. That is pretty funny though. |

Location: oswego, il | I caught two smaller fish, a short really thick pike, the kind you can see will be a really big fish someday and some nice bass, both kinds. We had some nice fish up, especially my partner and he wants to go back up this weekend. |
