To many times we forget what Memorial Day really means so I would like to Salute all of those members of the Armed Forces who gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we can do what we do today! Also, a Salute and Thank You to all of the members of our current Armed Forces, Active & Veterans, for the Honor, Courage and Commitment that you have so gratiously given to this wonderful country of ours.

I never served, but I am grateful to those who have and to those who are still sacrificing their lives to make mine a free one.

God Bless you all and stay safe.

Dont ask me why but today was probably the most memorable Memorial Day I can remember. Most people merely think of Memorial Day as the start of summer, Indy weekend, or another monday off work to make a three day weekend without having to call in sick. I had to work today and it was a special day. I spent the day working a parade detail on the northwest side of Chicago. Watching and Listening to the veterans who lost "brothers and sisters" or the mothers and fathers who lost sons and daughters in the name of our country was incredibly moving. Its not whether you supported or opposed any particular war, people lost their lives FOR THEIR COUNTRY. Also not to be forgotten are those Missing In Action never to have "returned home" and presumed killed in action. Not to be cofused with Veterans day also a day with great significance but today we honor those who not only seved our country but made the ultimate sacrifice in doing so. God Bless the Men and Women of the United States Armed Forces who gave their lives.
