| Had three fish follow last night right before a storm on a top raider. Threw back a bucktail on the first two, crankbait on the third, just to have the fish follow again. What do you guys use as a throw back bait? |

| Jackpot on hot fish and a Shumway Hot Head on less agressive fish. It is really important to take a minute to move the boat before you cast back so that the cast back bait is coming from a different angle. |

| Had sucess throwing back either a bulldawg...or my favorite a VERY slow moving topwater of your choice....especially if they came up hot on a topraider.

| I would have thrown back a hawg wobbler or another slower topwater like a creeper. |

| If a slower moving topwater didn't work, I'd throw my favorite, which is a six inch crane bait at her! |

| What about one of those big rubber jerkbaits??? Not the Sluggos, the other ones. I have a couple of them and they seem to work decent although I haven't used them enough to find out.

Try throwing back a slower retrieved Topwater,Creeper worked as slow as possible,but you still get a good sounding Plop--Plop--Plop.Make sure you do not set the hook to early,wait till you feel the weight of the fish,then set your rod to the side driving the hooks home.When the fish come in lazy and slow on Topraiders & Teasertail's,Creepers have worked for me many times. | One of my favorites for a follow on a Topraider or similar topwater is the "Undertaker". Or a VIPER worker really slow so that you get a long glide out of it. Seems to turn on the fish as you speed it up toward the boat. Start slow, then turn up the speed![:bigsmile:] Always good to throw from a different angle as well! Happy fishing![:sun:] |

| Twitching a minnow bait on the surface like a Slammer has been an awesome trick.
For the fish that fly by the boat fast, you just pitch way out in front of them. Not on them..but way out in front of them. Twitch the bait on the surface and they WILL come up an EAT it. |

| I would go with the Creeper worked ever so slow as well! But I can see a Tiger Tube being used when the water is cool as well. |

| As the season is over now,and I look back my best throw-back bait of 2001 wassssssssssssssss? A DANC`IN RAIDER!Its hang`in in the fish`in room with BIG TEETH still stuck in it!Second was an Undertaker surface style! Jeff |

| I would have thrown something a lot slower than what you threw previously at the fish. Since, you threw a Topraider, I'd probably thrown a Dancin' Raider, or Jackpot, or Creeper, and maybe a baby Hawg Wobbler.

| As a throw back lures we use a Mepps Muskie Killer or Gaint Killer, really can not remmenber the name now,Duh!
It has worked well to trigger a strike after a fallow.

throwback baits
