Location: Lake Country, Wisconsin | OK...So I am hearing from some guides that with recent cold weather, the fish will still be spawning and the bite should be very slow...
then I am hearing from other guides that the fish spawned early this year and unlike last year, the bite should be good...
What do you guys think??
Still deciding whether I should head NW or NE |

Location: Oconto Falls, WI | This is what I saw in the U.P. last weekend. Some lakes the fish appeared to be done spawning, and were active until the cold front rolled in on Sat. Each lake is has it’s own “schedule”, and the only way to know what to expect on the lakes you plan to fish is to ask specifically for that lake and where the spawn is at. A general statement of the shallow, dark water lakes are done and the clear, deep lakes are still experiencing spawn cannot be said. I found one deep, clear lake the fish weren’t in the shallows spawning anymore (or they haven’t even started yet!) while the other I saw several in the act!
All I can and will say is water temps ranged from roughly 52-55° on clear lakes to 58-60° on the darker lakes in the Phelps area last weekend.

| I guess it will be what it will be?? I'm, heading up for a long weekend and will in all likliehood be a "lone wolf". Had a few people de-committ, but that's ok, I can then prowl around and really mix it up without having to explain what I'm doing!
I'll be checking out some dark water in Iron county and clear water in Vilas.
I wish we'd have some nice 80 degree weather, but like I said, it will be what it will be.
Best of luck to everyone on the norhtern opener. |

Location: Gurnee, Illinois | Jim, my partner and I will be in Presque Isle tonight, staying at Skyview. We are fishing in the UP tomorrow, but will be in Presque Isle Saturday and Sunday. Stop by if you get a chance one evening, we will most likely be at the bar.

Location: Algonquin, ILL | Never fished Tenderfoot but Palmer does have some supertankers, Found a 50+ out there last year and I think it's a Tiger with the dark water could not see the markings clearly but there was no mistaking the size

No. None. The launch only has 3 spaces too. |
