Just wondering if there is demand for Topwater blanks? I got a Lathe for a wedding present and Haven't seen a huge number of blanks for sale out there. I see a few topwater blanks on ebay but that is about it. Let me know what you guys think.

Anyone going to wisconsin for opener this weekend? I think I'm hitting the apple river, maybe bone, or blake.

Not sure about the market for blanks, but I have a prototype that is extremely easy to make on a lather. I'll send you pics and weighting details if you'd like

I just tested it yesterday. It is very easy to weight and runs excellent.

I'll probably build a dozen or so out of various types of wood (with different bouyancies) to see which one produces the most strikes.

Then I build some for my friends as gifts. The first one is going to Etch A Sketch.

Really easy to build. I built a similar one last year and scored with it twice.

Yeah love to see your idea. At Thorne Bros. the other day I saw some jackpot style topwaters that where about 18" long. They looked sweet.

Stamina sells walk the dog topwater blanks. Just your standard cigar shaped ones up to8" long. I think Moores sells some too.

The ones Stamina sells are very light. I made a few from those once and the final weigh twas about 2oz. The same size Weagle came in at almost 5oz. Not sure waht woods they use for those but, if you want your lure to sit low and throw water use a heavy wood OR just buy a Weagle
