I have bearing buddies on my trailer. How do you determine when they are full? I would hate to add more grease if it is already where it should be. How close should the piston be towards the outer ring of the buddy? Thanks in advance.

all you need to do is push the plate along side of the zerk. If it gives a bit, you have enough grease...

If you over-grease to the point that grease is coming out the back seal, you'll have problems.

I have always felt that if you pull the hub apart every fall and re-pack with new seals, adding grease to the hub is a moot point. I have dunked my trailer numerous times, and I still get no water in there for th short time it's in the water..

Also be sure you actually have the original "Bearing Buddy". There are imitations out there that are junk. These imitations also have a sticker on them similar to the Bearing Buddy decal, but the quality of the product is not the same.

There is also a little hole in the chrome part, when you see greese come out of it(the hole), it is full.
