My starting battery seems to be draining unusually fast. Three times already this year it has drained to the point that I could not start the boat out on the lake. I am only running two locators off of it, no radios or other accesories. Any ideas on why this is happening? The battery is a brand new Trojan AGM. Did I possibly get a bad battery or could something else be the problem. Thanks for any ideas.

If you are runnning a lowrance 332c or similar it can seemingly "wake" itself up from being turned off and drain you - same thing kept happening to me last year and that was what I was told. I unplugged the power to the unit when not in use and have never had the problem again.

I run nothing but my ignition off of my starter battery to avoid such problems.
I have a 12 volt system, but run 2 150 amp deep cycle batteries parrellel to power everything else.
Had ignition problems once from an unexpected source, and will never let it happen again.
