I know there have been similar threads on here from time to time...I've read them and thought.."thats got to be rough"...Well, it was time to say goodbye this week...My dad died without warning last weekend...A great guy...Not an avid sportsman, but he did introduce me to fishing and hunting as a boy...Anyhow, make sure you let your dad (and/or mom) know how you feel about them...seize any opportunity you have to spend some time with them...You just never know...

Matt, Sorry to hear about your Dad. I lost my Mom 3 years ago this week, unexpected as well. Really makes you realize what is important in life. The last words I said to my Mom (on Mother's Day) was "I love you". I'll keep in you my prayers.

Sorry to hear about your loss Matt, but thanks for the reminder. I lost my Dad to cancer 20 years ago and he and my Grandfather were the ones to have me in the outdoors since I could walk hunting and fishing. My Dad never had the chance to meet my girls and enjoy having grand daughters. Now my little sister is expecting and just know that families go on and loved ones are always remembered.

My prayers go out to your entire family,

Steve

Man, I feel for you brother.
Lori lost her mom a few years back, and after reading the tributes to moms that have past in today's paper she totaly lost it (especially now that her dad is in the ICU). I cannot imagine what I will be like when Grandma peterson, or my mom or dad pass. I know that you are at a low, and if I knew you personally, I'd be buying your beverage of choice all night for you. remember the good times, and know that you will meet again some day.

Sorry for your loss,

I lost my Dad at an early age but He did teach me to fish, it was his way to relax. I can still see him fishing on the pier for gills with our dog at his side.

I feel for your loss,

Sorry to hear of your loss. I definitely keep my mom and dad close to me and cherish every moment.

I was lucky enough to fish with my dad this past weekend, and of course had a great time.

You have lots of good friends and people around you to help you through your tough times.

Lost my dad on the 4th of November last year. I know that you are in pain right now. I will tell you that this will get a bit better over time but I still have sad thoughts on a daily basis about him not being around. I will also tell you that I think of the good stuff about him many more times a day than I think those sad thoughts. Time will help dull the pain but I am glad that it will never be really gone. Keeps me on my toes thinking about all the fun things I got to do with my dad. All of you please give your dad a hug for me and do as much as you can with them. Life is too short to not have a little fun with your family. If your dad has allready gone, take someone elses dad out fishing once in a while. They will really enjoy the day and you will as well.
