| I just want to give everybody a heads-up about Shack Attack Lures. I have decided to drop the Formula-X and revert back to my original custom mix regular soft plastic that’s extra strong yet supple. This is due the huge demand for the original style hand poured baits that have a life like look to go with the life like action. I have also modified the external rigging system so that the rear treble hook can hang down, yet still break away for increased lure life.
The new 11” version of the Suzy Sucker will be out in the next few weeks along with the Curly Sue’s in all sizes. All of our baits will be hand made in the USA from now on. If anybody has any questions please email me at [email protected]

Location: The Sportsman, home, or out on the water | So, if i understand this right, formula X is not an option any more? not pointing fingers or anything like that, just want the story. I got several of the shack attack products (both formular x and plastisol?) they are all nice. |

The idea behind the Formula-X style of baits is great, but this comes at a price. My original hand poured baits achieve their fantastic and realistic colors by hot mixing two different colors at the same time. This can not be achieved using Formula-X, as FX can only be injected using one color and then the bait has to be painted for the final look
From what my customers tell me the average musky angler is less bothered by the longevity of the bait and more concerned by the way it looks and how it can be stored. I know that when I go fishing and change lures I just throw them in the box with the idea that I will tidy up the mess later and it seems I am not the only one.
I was overwhelmed by the response and orders I got from stores when I told them I was going to revert back to the original soft plastic.
I much prefer the look to my original style of baits, the hot color mix looks much more natural. The realistic and natural look was the idea in the first place for the Suzy Sucker.
All of the baits will now be hand poured in the USA and all the parts and components used are also made in the USA. I might only be a small company but making the baits over here I feel like I am doing my best to support the country I live in.
I am not trying to discredit the Formula-X used by other companies and I am sure people will continue to buy lures made from Formula-X. But the bottom line for me is it’s just not the right stuff to be using to make my baits.

| I think the Formula X is basically the same as the Triple X materila that was all the rage in bass fishing about 6 years ago. Now days you don't even hear about it in the bass market anymore. |
