Location: Albertville, Minnesota | A boss of mine at work wants to put togethor an outing for people here at work and match up workers with clients and friends. I don't see anymore than 10 boats being in this, and I wouldn't even call this a tourney or anything. But he does want to give prizes and have an end of the day/evening type dinner. I guess we just want to know is this an issue? Honestly, it would probably be a week day (afternoon through the evening) and on Tonka.
Normally its a golf outing, but wants to try something different because we got some fisherman here, and alot of clients like to hit the water. It would definately be more of fun thing...

| Serp, this if from the DNR website. I think you guys would probably be perfectly legal with what you are talking about...
A permit is required for any fishing contest that is limited to specifically named waters if one or more of the following apply:
* There are greater than 30 participants for open-water contests or 150 participants for ice-fishing contests
* The entry fee is greater than $25 per person
* The total prize value is greater than $25,000 or
* The contest is limited to trout species only. | |

Location: Albertville, Minnesota | Thanks Luke. Yeah, I printed off the DNR web page with the info and put it on the boss man's desk. Definately would meet the criteria for no permit.
