Location: Minnesota | Just curious if you would pay $19-$21 for this double bladed #10 DOMINATRIX bucktial?
It has a 0.063" wire base with .040 double #10 blades and 5/0 mustad hooks. I made it in bucktail hair. I also plan on spacing the hair out a little more between the two lots lof skirts (about 1 inch). It is 11 inches long and the skir is secured with epoxy. Any constructive comments are welcome.

| seriously no.to be honest the bucktail dont look verry nicely build,but i like those blades,and the wire diameter,and all the rest including epoxy

| I like it but I like how the hair on a cowgirl is forward and backward. I may buy it if they epoxy on the tie was better and if the closest bucktail to the blades was flipped around. Is the rear trebble heat shrunk in place? |

Location: Minnesota | Thanks for the feedback guys! I also want to make some with the heavy flashabou. Here is one of those. I just figured there are not too many of these big double #10 with hair on the market. I know some like hair so I figured this might be a good angle on these lures. I think the big sellers will always be the flashabou double #10s.
What do you think of this one? Made with the same components but the skirt is tied with small zip ties.

Location: Minnesota | One followup question. Is it you don't like hair on these big bucktails and woudl prefer flashabou?
I know most realize the skirt has little to do with these big bucktails catching muskies. It is the blades and the vibration. Hence these lures working great in murky waters with 1 inch visibility and at night with no moon light.

Bucktail hair is hollow and when the blades create the "vacuum" effect, the hair will be pulled forward.The hairs will fold over and begin to break and fall off. Could be a durability issue. Perhaps the reason we're not seeing bucktail on Dubba 10's. Also, the top hook on a single split ring could be trouble. It's pretty static on one ring , which may allow the fish to torque it .2 split rings gives the hook movement and it can twist. It's a big bait for big fish, go with 7/0 hooks too. IMHO, the .040 blades are too thick and heavy. Totally different vibration. In many instances, the bait may have to be worked too quickly. If you can improve on what's out right now, then, by all means, keep building.BUT, the "top dawgs" right now will do the job nicely so there is no reason to change. "I'll leave the dance with who brought me". $19 or $22, it's a horse a piece, and there's something to be said about confidence.Good Luck. Steve |

Location: Minnesota | Aren't the new Cowgirls using the thicker 0.040 thick blades now? I know they used to use the 0.026 but mine from this years purchases have the 0.040. Oh, the top treble woudl be on a double ring. This one was just pieced together for a picture....opps

Location: Bemidji, MN | Grunt, we have been throwing the #10's up here a long time before the cowgirls showed up, and probably will be long after they are gone. The .040's seem to catch more fish, especially at night, plus they don't break off of the clevis after 2 or 3 fish like the thinner ones can. The hair works fine with the doubles, in fact I like it better because it doesn't become a wadded mess like the flashabou can. I also make my baits quite a bit shorter, with a single treble. This is because we already know the fish are usually eating the blade, especially at night, and I would rather have them hooked up on the good hook that is wired in instead of split-ringed anyway. That is my 2 cents. I think its a good-looking bait, and will catch muskies for as long as your arms can stand to throw it. As far as the price, i think its reasonable. There are many lesser quality bucktails out there now selling for even more. |

Location: Minnesota | Thanks Nail! I plan on making a few different kind for all. If some sell better than others that is to be expected. I am not sure I will sell a single hook model. Not taht I won't make some for myself but, a lot of the smaller bucktails are out. Only a few big double #10 makers on the market still. I think the market is smaller though too. I will make 1000 or so and see how it goes. That is the beuty of being a small business, you can start and stop whenever you want to!
