I'm looking to get started airbrushing some baits. What brand/ type of paint works best for plastic lures? How about wood lures? Thanks

I have not messed with plastic baits but have painyed a few wood baits. I use a water based paint as it cleans up easy if you make a mistake. Started with some cheap paint from Walmart. I think it was called apple barrel. I now use Createx paints. The Createx seems to come out of the gun better with no thinning. I am no expert when it comes to paint but it works for me. Lots of good lure makers on this site. Should have no problem getting some help.

we use lacquer based for plastics. you get better bite or paint adhesion. nturally we have a dedicated paint room with blower system and respirator use. if your in enclosed enviroment water based paints are best for safety reasons.

I also use Createx and love it. I'd scuff up the plastic with fine sand paper though just to help adhesion.
