All,

I need a few Sledges, and since I can't get them elsewhere, I'll have to turn to the MuskieFirst community. I am looking for 9" unweighted Sledges. Pattern preferences are for firetiger, orange coachdog or orange tiger, or hot perch patterns. I will also consider other colors for repaints, so if you have 'well used' baits and are willing to part with them reasonably, let me know. I wouldn't mind having a couple 6"ers in similar colors.

Again, they must be unweighted.

Thanks,

Eric

Eric, if you can't get them where you are, try calling Hornbeck's tackle in Ohio at 740-423-1949; I'm sure they'd arrange to ship you new ones and they take most plastic payment cards. Tell Kim that mikie sent ya. I think R&H carries them, too.

If you're looking for used ones, sorry, I'm keeping my collection, they are some fish catching mofo's. m

Eric,
You can still get them at www.protacklemuskyshop.com Stacy has them all as far as I know and www.luremaking.com has the blanks at $9.49 for non-weighted and 9.99$ Canadian. I hope this helps.

Lucky,

The contact info on that site has gotten me nowhere recently; that's why I'm here.

magnum,

I've looked online at R&H; if you can find the link to their Sledges, please post it here because I must be blind. Don't recall seeing them in the new catalog either. For future reference, I have called Paskika's (only a couple weighted ones, which I don't want) and Thorne Bros (All out). I haven't contacted protacklemuskieshop yet because I have a friend going to Hornbeck's this weekend to look for me, and I had one PM indicating he might have some to spare and would get back with me. I guess it speaks well for the bait that not many want to part with them, but it looks like I may have to do without. Have to find something else to spend my $ on.

Thanks anyway, guys.

I had a dandy fish roll up on a Sledge yesterday. Thought I'd got a good hookset, there was a 3/4 inch tooth scrape on the side of the bait when the fish returned it to me. This is the time to use these baits, they work well in the spring. To me, the trick is waiting just a couple seconds more after the pull to give them a chance to rise, then another hard pull and the dog's walking. m
