Ben donated a Guide Trip to the Muske Nutz Social Outing on April 7th at the Thirsty Whale, which I was fortunate to win during the raffle. I called Ben right away hoping to do some pre-WI opener fishing in IL. After a few accommodations, we selected Saturday April 21st on the Fox Chain.
Ben thought of a well developed plan of casting and trolling. We met at 4:45 a.m. b/c he wanted to hit a few hot spots before the FRV Tournament started. We had our first action around 10:30 when Ben had a nice fattie follow in...but a no go. Later we saw a 2 people in the boat ahead of us figure 8ing, as we approached Ben positioned the boat along the inside weed line and after a few casts I set the hooks and landed a healthy 38.
From the word we heard from others in the tournament, we were 4 out of 100+ musky fisherman to put a fish in the net. Also noted, there was a Bass and Walleye tournament on Saturday and then add the 1st summer time pleasure boaters - as you know the Fox Chain can and is a zoo. Ben kept a positive attitude all day and entertained us through trolling lessons and funny stories.
I would recommend Ben to anyone looking for a guide on the Fox Chain and or SE WI Lakes. He is a hard-core hunter and will chase all day and night to Guarantee a fish.

Andy, is there anything you don't win? Drawing at the Hulbert/Stealth booth, Lax repro on your pig from last summer, a Ben Kueng guide trip. What's next? Have you bought your Power Ball ticket??? Nice way to get the season started!

Andy,

I need your tournament schedule so I can find something besides fishing to do those days.

I was with Andy and Ben on this trip and I would say that if someone was interested in fishing with a guide, Ben is your man. He knew the water and the pattern and put us on the fish. Odds are that we should have spent a day and a half in the boat getting tennis elbow yet we snapped a pic and had some action (and lets not forget about that crazy walleye I had to yank my bait away from!) Ben fished us hard from 5:00am to 7:00 pm and he was donating his time, I wonder how hard he wroks when he actually gets paid! Thanks Ben, I learned alot from you and Andy.
