I was able to help the guys at Lake Carroll with netting fish on Sunday for the hatchery there. What a blast! I am definately doing that again. A great learning experience to boot. If you guys ever get the opportunity to help with spring netting, do it. You will love it. Plus, you get that nice fuzzy feeling knowing you are giving back a bit. We did manage to get a real mixed bag, muskie, a bunch of walleye, lots of giant crappie, channel cats,white/striped bass, smallies, even a couple of gizzard shad (stinky things). Fun time.

Do you know if spawning has taken place there yet?

If you are talking muskie, i am not sure. I heard the up and down weather had stalled much of the spawning. The boat we were on did not have a temp gauge so i couldnt tell you the water temps. Pretty cold though (at least my hands thought so).
The walleye were in full spawn mode and i hear they are triggered in temps that are cooler than muskies. Someone else with more knowledge could help you more with that.
