I'm installing a new 3 bank on-board charger. I'm locating it close to the console so it will reach my two trolling motor batteries. It will then be pretty far from my cranking battery & I thought I read somewhere that you are not suppose to add wire to the factory leads on the charger.

How am I suppose to get the charger hooked up to my starter battery that is in the rear of the boat?

Thanks,
Brad

You will be OK just make sure that your extension wire if of that same Guage or even larger than the wire that comes with the charger, Keep your Extension as short as possible leaving just enough slack for maintenance, Make sure the splice connections are tight and as water proof as you can make them

I would agree with John.I talked to guest awhile back and they also suggested keeping them as short as possible so it does'nt affect charging time.
