I have not been on the water in 07 and I'm getting a bit antsy to get out...
With this nice weather and a possible trip south this weekend w/ CPainter all I can think about is setting the hooks into something!
And I'll make sure I set the hook like a man and my drag is properly set....ummmm Slamr...ahahahhaaaa

Spent the whole day Sunday in my boat

Unfortunatly the boat was in my driveway and not on the water but she is ready to go all clean and shiny just waiting to get slimed up

Must have been the day to clean boats! Mine is almost too shiny and clean to take out of the garage!

Tried going to lake WI yesterday for ANYTHING but bobber fishing. Boat decided it didn't want to plane out. Drive home change the plugs that were not even the right plugs for the motor.(just bought it, previous owner braindead) Put the correct plugs in and cruised around Mendota for an hour.

Didn't even wet a line, but it felt good to be floating again.

I'm getting nervous, man... 4 days till our club tournament, and my basement looks like rollie and helens would after a tornado!

Fished a week down in FL in March, did some trolling up on Lake Superior over the weekend, so I've been fishing here and there already, but nothing muskie since late November. Almost 5 months, hope I still remember how!

Walleye fishing this morning had little to no effect on my musky itch. Only one way to scratch that one. 2.2 more weeks, BABY!

April 28. April 28. April 28. April 28.

I'll be on the water the evening of the 27th, and throw the first cast at 12:packbud:01am.

I've been hitting golfballs every day this past week and it seems I've sprung my back a bit. So bedrest until the opener and I'm taking a nurse with me when I go.

You know yur ready (or Just loosing yur mind) when you start doing stuff like this>

Sunnies are small
Muskies are big
We search for the monsters
With our hefty Fig Rigs

We toss our baits far
And give them a wiggle
The fish can’t resist
The taste of a Weagle

A big piece of wood
That goes side to side
It drives muskies crazy
You know they’ll collide

You know it will happen
With the sound of the swoosh
The musky just hit
When the water went sploosh

You set the hook hard
She’s on the end of your line
Head shakes and jumping
Sends chills down your spine

You yell for the net
Cuz you know she’s a beast
She goes on a run
First West and then East

You say she is ready
And to net her now
As your net man just stands there
Saying HOLY COW

He slips the net under
And gives it a lift
She’s now in the net
In one fail swift

You have boated a monster
The pictures will tell
And as you pick her up
You give a big yell

The pictures are done
And its time for the release
As you pray to the gods
Can I catch another one please

My boat is kaput! I am planning on selling it to fund two trips to the Sabaskong Bay area of LOTW. All it takes is one cast....

Ready?? You bet! But, too much smallie, cat, and crappie fishing to be done before then. Though Musky fishing tops the list, the other seasons don't last long enough either, and I cherish all of them.

I've been ready tackle wise for a little over a month now. Been throwing musky stuff in a small creek for pike just to pass the days.
I was really in a rut cuz I needed a new boat. Can't stand fishing out of my current one. Didn't want to re-license it, spend any money on it, or even look at it for that matter.
Well, today I went out and actually bought a boat that one can fish out of. My old boat was good for drifting, or anchor fishing, but even that was pushing it. Now I got something that is 21 years newer, and "fishable". Thank god for small favors!!!
How many days left????
Tooo many if you ask me.
My wife has been yelling at me for two weeks now because all she hears when she comes to bed is the sounds of musky DVD's with water splashing everywhere.
On the bright side, it helps me get to sleep, and I have dreams of the "big one" that I'll never catch!
