Subject: Ranger trailer brake release wire


I just brought a different truck and I need to wire it for the trailer.. I'm wondering what color wire on the truck that relaeses the Disc brakes on a Ranger trailer

I can't tell you what color wire it is but can tell you that the wire you are looking for is you back-up light wire. When in reverse this wire is hot and activates a solinoid that keeps the brakes from being applied.

Wire is usually color coded blue.

Thanks guy's It's a 96 chevy silverado..
I found the blue coming from the front of the truck. It was rolled up and taped to the main wiring harness .. Is that the one your talking about ??
