Hoping that I can get some lodging recommendations for somewhere in or between Duluth and Virginia, MN. Usually we drive all night to AML but night driving is getting old. Concerned mostly with the boat and truck being safe from theives. Doesn't need to be 4 stars either. I would appreciate any responses. Thanks!

We usually stay in Ft. Frances. Decent place with decent rates, talk to Steve Jonesi, or Slamr for the details, I forget the name of the place.

Been staying here for decades and have never had a problem with thieves. I also pull a boat. Not a 4 star but O.K.

the Holiday Inn Eveleth is now just the Eveleth INN.

Great Place with a whirpoll and swimming pool plus a decent resteraunt. Rates are usually 50-60 per night including a cont. breakfast and usually two drink coupons in the bar.

The Eveleth Inn, Old Holiday Inn, has changed owners and I know there was some problems there earlier this past winter. You may want to check that out. Goodfellows is not attached to the Eveleth Inn but about two blocks to the south.
Cook also has a motel.
