I fished Cave Run this weekend. Saturday I had a fat 36 in the boat in the first ten minutes of casting. I would show a picture except that I forgot to show my dad how to use the digital camera. I had another nice one try to eat my jerk bait twice. I can’t figure out how a fish can bite down on a 9” lure with three sharp trebles and not get hooked.

Sunday I went by myself. Again, within the first few minutes of casting I had another fish but this time it was a very fat with eggs momma bass. Fished hard for the rest of the day with no action until right at sunset and moonrise a scrappy 34 made the day.

Strange weather today, it started of with hard rains then cleared off with bright sunshine and lots of wind. By the end of the day the upwind side of the lake was 55 degrees while the downwind side was 65 degrees. Not more than a mile apart.

CYOTW,

Bruce

Brewsky,

Good to hear of your success . Were you fishing the shallows, or the steep drop offs?
Hey, What did the male bass say to female bass??? Nice bASS, HA, HA,

I'll be back down the week of 4-10 to get my boat, perhaps you could sneak out of work and chase a few fat girls around the lake. Let me know

Nice bonus, Bruce! Glad to hear you're out there on the Cave.

Jerome, maybe see you guys there if I'm lucky! I've been doing boat repairs lately. Got new casting deck built, installing trim tabs, and new Humminbird if it comes in this week

Thanks guys

I will be back at it this weekend. It looks like I will have an open seat Fri/Sat. PM if you are interested. It may be tough for me to get away the following week.

I am guessing the bass went 5 1/2. It sure was fat. I told a couple guys fishing a tournament that afternoon. They were seriously jealous. LOL
