Location: Northern Illinois | Just wondering what you guys think is the best lure for the early season. I am going with the Black bunny strip on the fly, sight fishing the shallows. I welcome all opinions....... |

Location: Northern Illinois | Looks like a leach when you pull it through the water. Basically a very lightweight jig with a fury tail about 3.5-4inches long. Used for fly fishing. |

Location: Anchorage | A #14 Husky Jerk with two heavy wire hooks replacing the three it comes with. Tight straight wobble, wild when twitched, at ya can sit it right in front of 'em.

Location: minocqua, wi. | i'll be in the river slow glidin' mr. automatics, twitchin' cranes and swimmin' whizzes ... it's a proven pattern over the years and as long as the river is moving makes for a good opening weekend. nothing huge, but usually lots of action and a good tuner for the start of the season ... |

| 6" Hugheys, Perkettes and a host of 5 and 6 inch neutrally buoyant gliders.
Reason- Match the Hatch, and most important.....Hang time.
Up Nort it'll be 10"ers in Walleye and Sucker patterns near evening, fishing in and around spawning grounds, and perch profile gliders and some Cranes and Slammers near the newly emerging weeds.
Same reasons. |

Slow Tease from Hawg Seekers great for all season, but I had great success with it last year.
Mepps Giant Killer there's never a bad time for bucktails. These baits seem to always produce every spring.

| i dont change much. the fish are hungry and will eat. if the weather is anything like it was the last two years (warm)...a mag dawg will be the first thing to hit the water.
other than that topwaters and bucktails seem to work fine.
