The 2007 Muskie School was a huge success! Congratulations to the folks from the Madison Chapter MI for another truly enjoyable experience.

I have some images and video to post tomorrow, including the opening debate contrasting release/harvest of a 50# plus fish in Wisconsin now and into the future.

After speaking to Geoff Crandall, "Dean of the Muskie School", he has advised us that we had over 125 attendees not including instructors at the event this year. This included 11 kids, far more than we have had in the past.

On behalf of Capital City Muskies Incorporated we would like to thank all of you who attended. Special thanks to Steve Worrall, a charter member instructor, who drove all the way down from Rhinelander (in some foggy weather no less) for his 6th straight year at the school!

Thank you to all instructors for putting on a first class event.

Geoff advised me today that we will indeed have a 7th Muskie School again next year. Hope to see you all then.

Thanks very much to everyone who taught at this school and attended. It was a tremendous group of anglers who seemed to have a very productive and fun day.
I was very impressed with the faculty who collectively have over 450 years of muskie fishing experience combined! These people know muskies and it showed.

We had over 150 people focusing on muskie fishing and sharing their tips and information all day long. The weather was darn good except the pea-soup fog in the morning.

Many thanks to Steve Worrall and Sue for fully participating in the school as has happened each of the previous 6 years. THe first year we sat on bleachers and had 50 people attend. Now we have a fantastic faculty, facility with an excellent lunch and a fun loving and very curious students who are very interested in learning all about every aspect of muskies.

Lee Tauchen was excellent as was Steve Reinstra, Jeff Hanson, Adam Oberfoell, Brad Nelson, Mike Koepp, Joe ALdworth, Kevin Wegner, Don Hollatz, Craig, John & Sue Eversoll, Keith Krinke, Jay Richman, Matt Devos, Jerry Georgeson, Scot Stewart, Jim OIson, Kevin Witt, Scott Hogland, Duffy Kopf, Don Hollatz, Steve Ruhman, Bill Buechner, the Boat Doctor, Dan & Margaret Reim, Karen Phillips, Breanda Nelson, Dawn Syzryj, Ron Schell, Chien Goh, and numerous other instructors and staff.

The evaulations filled out by the students we very favorable with good fedback and suggestions including ideas for new classes next year. We are planning a 2008 muskie school. We are hoping that Steve WOrrall & Sue will join the fun again and will make a presentation regarding his underwater sounds of lures presentation - that is one extremely interesting and useful presentation!!

Thanks again each and every one of you that attended and taught!

Steve R,

Thanks for the info on letting us know about next year. I had some conflicts this year, but want to go for sure next year. I have it marked down to be on the lookout for it

Any chance of running the school earlier in the year?  Indiana has open water!

You ask a good question David. Usually, we offer this a couple weeks earlier however, this year the facility was not available. We prefer to run this earlier.

So once we get a date established we'll get the word out and we'll let you know. Hopefully, you can make the 7th annual school in 2008. In the meantime, enjoy that open water in Indiana now and best of luck to you throughout the season!
