Anyone have any place online or in the Chicagoland area that has good deals on marine/boat carpet? The "Shine Box" is in need of some love.

Lowes. They carry a marine backing carpet that has always worked well for me. That plus some Henry's Outdoor Carpet glue and your set.

Bass pro sells it, at least online they do. I ordered their midgrade carpet and by the picture tried to find the best match for what came with my boat. Somehow it ended up being the exact same carpet.

Boat U.S. or West Marine usually carry some. Kendor on Ryan Road south of Milwaukee has a large supply on hand. It's only a bit out of the way on the ride to/from the new Cabela's in Richfield.

Fleet Farm stores in northern/central WI have a decent marine backed carpet and a good price and a few colors for the folks up here. But don't confuse with farm and fleet-not sure about them.

Be sure not to stretch this carpet, it will ruin the backing. Just lay it and glue it down. m

I took delivery of my Crestliner with the Northwest Package (vinyl) option. The decks are a snap to restore to factory condition and I have not found any slippage during wet conditions. The carpeting I have seen on almost all boats after a couple of seasons looks somewhat ratty, and it would appear that coffee stains are almost a right of passage on carpeted boats.

Has anyone else out there purchased boats with vinyl covered decks?
