I am off to Kinkaid this weekend with the Big O for my first muskie trip of the season. Me and Dave have never fished Kinkaid before and I just thought I would give a shout to anyone who is willing to help a coulpe muskie hunters out.

I assume gliders and traps will work for starters. We are going Saturday after the muskie school in Mad Town.

Any advice or help would be very cool. PM's, E-mail or posts would be great.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Let me know how you do, I'll be down there next weekend for the first time. Rattl'n Shads seem to be scoring muskies and it sounds like the bite is ON!

Good Luck

Thanks for all the PM's so far. MuskieFirst is such a cool site. Where else can a guy head down to a new lake with great info and confidence.

I am not looking for all the answers, just some pointers on bait selection. I know most lake have there hot baits. Knowing a few of them is huge. Thanks for all the info so far. I would be gald to help those who helped me with a detailed report of what we got and how, once we get back. Look for a pm if you sent me a pm.

Thanks again all............

Hey Mike,
Just got back from Kinkaid. Fished Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. It also was my first time. It was awesome and I will definitely be headed back next spring! A beautiful lake with tons of structure and weeds. Weeds like crazy on the shores. I caught three fish, a 32, 39, and 40. All were nice fat fish and were caught down by the water treatment plant. I caught the 32 and 39 on a bulldawg with a green sparkled head and an orange tail and the 40 on a yellow suick. All three fish were in very shallow water, right up on shore. There were lots of other fishermen though. Good luck!
