Here's a video I slapped together of the 13" prototype Sucker swimbait. The goofy fins were an experiment and although they don't hinder the action they do look...well...goofy! lol The ones I make for customers will have painted on fins except for the dorsal which is wood. It really does look "fishy" coming through the water though which never ceases to make me grin in anticipation of the coming season in Canada.

You should have seen the extention cord for the blow drier I used!!! lol
These are available now but I didn't have any production ones ready to film. As mentioned above, the goofy fins won't be on the real ones so they will be as durable as a wood bait can be. I'm really pleased with the swimming actiona and I can hardly wait until I can throw them at some big old muskies in June.

I like it..if the fins were optional I'd get them.
I can put them on but I can't guarantee that they wouldn't get shredded after a few fish. Half of each fin is actually under the epoxy with only a portion exposed. I do think the baits would perform best in the long run with painted fins.

The way that thing twitches at the end of that video is really sweet. I seems like you'll be able to work it passively or actively and get a variety of different action effects from it.
When you were just cranking it and swimming it, it appeared to lack that choppy "clacking" effect that most jointed baits have (which seems to be cause by the wood near the joint slapping together.) Really a smooth, natural, looking swim.
You twitched it a few times toward the end of the video and it looked like a fish in the throes of death. What a target!

Thanks Fatfingers. We spoke about that clacking effect on the phone yesterday and it is something I wanted to avoid with mine. I also like the fluid swimming actions. I also use an actual galvanized hinge in mine which limits the amount of up and down movement in the bodies. It helps lock the bodies in perfect alignment to maximise water flow over the joints giving the actions you see. ( Geez, that almost sounded like I know what I'm talking about! lol)

Is this an original idea of your own?
Funny guy!
The carved out features and detailed paint are indeed mine. Looks just like one of my Sucker glide baits but jointed. The use of a real hinge is mine. The concept of a jointed swimbait is not. Are we clear now wise *ss?
Go make your own baits and post them so I can give you some glowing comments. Bet you do really unique work.

Maybe the sucker mouth is your idea but the rest is not original..

My paint jobs are 100% original as is the shape which is a modified sucker and not exactly like the real fish.
Nice try. Tell you what, come knock on my door and tell me all about your issues to my face sometime.

I have seen a swimbait very similar posted here but not exactly the same. This one has more fins. Good work.
