hey guys,
I am running a 55lbs thrust minkota and the batery i got will last all day but this year i am adding a second graph and also a gps i was wondering if i would gain run time by adding a second battery in serries still having 12v to the troller but being able to run one graph of off each battery. it sounds good in theory wondering if it will actually help? or any other sugeston on how to wire them up?
cheers

Don't hook them up in series or you will make it a 24 volt system and will fry your trolling motor.

Hooking them up in parallel WILL still give you 12 volts and a lot longer run time. Just use "jumper" wires that hook the + to the + and the - to the - terminals on your two batteries. Check out http://www.zbattery.com/seriesparallel.html if you need a visual.
