| I have a Lowrance 332c and currently the GPS puck is mounted in the year of the boat. I want to be able to take the setup on another boat and don't want to purchase another antennea. I have seen mounting brackets where the puck would sit directly behind the unit. Will this cause interference on the unit itself with the puck being so close. My other thought was to stick some velcro on the back of the puck and another on the dash of both boats. Moving it would be easy. The only problem is that there may not be a level surface to mount the puck. So, does the puck need to be mostly horizontal. Could I stick it to the side of a windshield or at an angle
Any thoughts would be appreciated. |

Location: Stevens Point, WI | I had my puck velcroed to my console before I got the ram mount. It worked just fine. However, if you buy a mount with the puck being mounted behing the unit, some windshields this can be a problem. Those pucks can be extremely sensitive in the fact that they need to have direct access to the sky, and any little cover up can cause interference from what I have experienced and a few others I know. |

Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | I think if you keep it in the open it should be fine. I have mine just in front of my windshield on my 620. Works great. I like your idea of sticking some velcro on the back of the puck and another on the dash of both boats. Moving it would be easy. That would work fine as long as it will not move or blow off.
Keeping it free of obstructions is important. |
