| i picked up my replica this weekend!
great work, i can't recommend Rick Lax enough.
without a picture, he was working from the descriptions i gave of a couple of the things i remembered distinctly about this fish and he absolutely nailed what images i had left in my "mind's eye". he's a true artist.
first thing i did once i got the replica hung on the wall was measure it length and girth...and it is exactly to specs right down to the 1/2".
thanks for bringing my memories to life!

Very nice. I like the bait on the plaque as an accompaniment, too.

| at the end of the day, replicas are art and art is a subjective thing.
some people like certain styles or looks, some people like others. it's just opinion and that's an OK thing. we're very very fortunate in the era of catch and release to have such talented artists available to us such as Rick Lax and Joe Fittante.
myself, i'm pretty partial to this one.
thanks again Rick!
people seemed to really like the bait on the plaque idea, so here's a better picture.

Location: Wausau | I would also recommend Mr. Lax for any replica. I picked up my fish he so generously donated as a promotion on MuskieFirst. The fish was outstanding. As I looked around his shop I was amazed at not only the "Big Fish" he has recreated, but also the highly professional quality on all the different species he has done. |

Location: The desert | [Lax] has amazing talent, outstanding artwork something I could never do.[...] There was no negative tone to my post at all, it just doesnt suit my style thats it.
The work done on the fish is very good, but again I dont think it is my style. I would still recommend Mr. Lax if someone asked me where to get a replica made.
The bait on the plaque is awesome!

| I think Rick Lax has come a very long way in the last several years, to become one of the best. This mount is an outsatnding replication of a very nice fish. Lambeau, you should be extremely pleased, and proud. Not just for the work Rick did, but also on catching this great fish.
Fittante, Artistic Angler, and now Lax, are the three I would approve of if asked about a replica. Thay all do awesome work.
PP, not sure what you mean about style. Please define what your style would be. not trying to be a smart ass here. Just wondering what you would have had done differently. I, too, like the separate plaque w the bait on it. |

| I just returned home from basketball tournaments with my daughter and am on cloud nine as her team placed first in their division. I decided to take a look at the message board to see what's been going on and my cloud nine experience has now been sent soaring even higher.
I just wanted to take a few moments to thank each and every one of you for your kind and encouraging words. Let me state point blank that I LOVE what I do. I'm not just a taxidermist and an artist, but an active angler too, which is why I take so much pride in every mount I complete. I do my best to meet each clients expectations and push myself to find better and more realistic ways to create replicas every day as I hold an air brush in my hands.
Lambeau - I want to send a big Thank You your way for allowing me to replicate your trophy catch for you. I cannot convey to you how pleased I am to know that your expectations for the mount were met. To everyone else who has posted a reply to this thread, a big thank you to all of you as well for supporting MuskieFirst, catch-and-release, and my work as an artist.

| Cool Mike, I like what you did with the lure to highlight your monster catch. Although I hate to retire lures myself! |

Thanks for sharing. Reminds me of the hat I gave my dad a number of years back......fifty is nifty. Suppose 50 plus would have to be nifty plus!

Location: Waukesha, WI | ouch, don't I feel like an arse. Sorry! Now I remember that the creation was from the mental image. Some day I hope to have a mental image just like it. Hopefully digital as well (would brain patterns be considered digital or chemical?).
I didn't notice the Lambeau Mojo XX special at the Milwaukee Booth |

Location: WI | Nice Fish Lambeau! One thing that you should be commended for is the thought of releasing the fish first. Even though you had a good idea that you were not going to have a picture of the fish. Some people would have transported that fish to a lighted area or sat with it while someone got a camera. You thought of the fish first, and now you have the reward.
Congrats-

Location: KC-BBQ | Lambeau - Awesome fish! Will be nice to revisit the ol memory bank every time you look at it.
Rick - Great mount! You should be proud of your work. You take alot of pride in the detail of your work and it shows.
Lambeau - Not sure if you did or not....but would love to hear the story about the day you caught this fish.
