| This wasa a very thin Pike that was caught up in Canada a few years ago. This fish has a huge head and a very thin body. It looked like it was in good shape, besides being so thin. Does anyone have an guess to why it looked like this? Or why it wasn't eating?

Location: The desert | Could be an overpopulated lake with bad forage, stunting the growth of it. Did you catch a lot of Pike like that or were they bigger and thicker? |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I've caught pike like that on LOTW and Wabigoon, both very healthy systems. In almost every case, the fish had a jig or something in it's gut, or was very old. |

Location: WESTERN WI | A few muskies that I have boated looked similar to that. Looking back on those fish it was the hottest time of the year for water temps, perhaps the fishes metabolsim was going so nuts it was barely surviving on the available forage.
-Poor forage base and extremely high metabolism could be contributing factors. |

Location: Warroad, Mn | My guess it that's it old (it has to be at 42"s) , and is infested with tape worms, which is a common problem.
I've seen a number of fish (both pike and muskie) that are in this sort of condition on the LOTWs. I doubt that any of them made it to the next year. I suspect that a lot of natural mortality occurs under the ice.

| Pointer - We caught a number of nice pike, that was the only one that looked so thin. These are some of the other pike we caught.
