is this a single bait? or are you making several at the same time? Having several prototypes at your disposal quickens the process.

You might consider checking with Stamina or Rollie and Helen's Musky Shop to buy a stainless steel lip for that style of bait. It attaches with three small screws and should really work well with that type of body.
Really nice job of carving your first bait. I like how you made the head longer; it seems to give it more detail.
