The chat this Thursday with Murph is far and away the best I have ever attended! The guy is a real
"giver." Short of telling where he has pinpointed the new Minnesoata state record, he "told it all."
He has a booking with me as soon as I get moved there.

I MISSED IT- and I cannot believe I did that. I went out with Jim last August, and I got a lot of learning from him. One thing I was going to ask Jim about was Dick Pearson's comment in his 'Shield' book about muskies being predominantly found on one part of LOTW (north, versus the US side. Jim stated to me that he doesn't believe there is a bad place to fish on Leech. I wonder why one large body of water is like LOTW and another like Leech. Is it size and depth characteristics that create multiple "lakes on the lake"? Current, substrate? Seems that both lakes have multiple and diverse habitats.
Do Pearson's observations (catching fish predominantly on one side or area of a lake) apply to smaller lakes, say under 5,000 acres?
Any help? Discussion?
When will I be able to get this off an archive? Can't believe I MISSED IT.

Great job Murph....

I talked to him a few years back on the phone about his boat, he is very nice person and a true professional in our business.

I got called out on a fire run just at the tail end so I'll look for the archive as well.

Thanks again Murph...look forward to seeing pictures of you with the "aircraft carrier"..[;)]

Thanks to all for the kind words. It was fun, can get a little hairy when the questions are coming, especially when your server shuts you down. Don to answer your question, there are better areas on Leech to fish than others. All depends on the forage and access to deep water. Steamboat and Boy Bay are an example. Plenty of food but very shallow water. Especially when water heats up in the Summer. Dick would certainly know more and answer your question better on LOW's.

Good luck and thanks again, Murph
