| Logbooks, I have trouble keeping a very good log of what happened, where, when and why. Lot's of variables and my memory is not what it once was. My question is, if you keep a log of your fishing and catching activities, what do you consider important? I know that what lure, depth, wheather etc. are all very important. But what items should be included in alog report? Also is there anything available for sale that would meet these demands? I think that at times what did not happen, catching fish wise, could be just as important as when you just load the boat. Let me know your thoughts and maybe I can figure out how Ican best keep my own records. Thanks,

| I would stick to the basics when you are making a log book. If you make it too much work per fish, then you might end up giving up on it.
Stick with the size and weight of the fish, lure used, date and time of day, location, and some kind of weather indicator.
example:
64" muskie 80 pounds, lure: black bucktail, lake: Dream Lake, weather: overcast with a south wind, caught at 1:04 PM 3-14-02
you can fine tune your own log to add or ommitt things that will help you in the future. Remember that a log book is there to help you in the long run to catch more fish.

| I believe bigmusky.com has a log book for sale. It is a pretty good one.
I don't need one, because I can remember where and when I caught my one fish every year. | |
