Location: milwaukee | I was going to sell this rod to a buddy of mine until he pointed out the damage shown in the photo (hope it shows enough detail). I had no idea that this nick was there.
It looks to me like it's just the final finish that is damaged and not the underlying graphite structure. What do you guys think? OK to fish it without risk of breakage?

| Now I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure that is just cosmetic damage. That judgment is based on the fact that every single one of my rods has a couple of those and they haven't let me down. |

| It appears it is just the outside layer. That is a painted blank and what you are seeing is the actual blank material. When it is painted they coat the blank so the paint does not wear off.
You should be good to go.

Location: Yahara River Chain | It looks like it got damage while in a rod locker. I have had this happen before and now use rod sock or condoms to cover the rods during long hauls. The other guides in the locker tap on the blank causing chipping like its shown. |

| Mine don't look that good! I agree...it appears to be little more than cosmetic damage. Tell your buddy the line for the fashion show is somewhere else...this is a quality rod built for use in the real world. It's been used...not a showroom model. I also have a bunch of other quotes to use but won't jeapordize your friendship with him!!

Location: On your favorite spot | Yeah I have one rod that looks like that all over and it still hasn't broke. Tell your buddy to cover it up with some of his clear nail polish and he won't notice it anymore.

Location: searchin for 50 | Go to WWW.jannsnetcraft.com and order some flexcoat. They have High build and lite formulas. The lite should work just fine as you are just covering scratches If you get the 2 oz. size you getthe syringes for exact measuring. Also you will have plenty to do all of your other rods as well.  That is what I use on my rods when they get a little banged up Catalog #290536 Hope this helps
