Location: Ft. Wayne, Indiana | I am going to try and make some # 10 colorado bladed, bucktails pretty soon, and I was wondering what diameter wire I should use. Any help would be appreciated.

| I use the .51, and after a fish or 2, sometimes later sometimes earlier I usually have to re shaft them. The thicker wire is quite hard to bend without a wire bender, but should hold up better.
I really don't mind reshafting baits though so I'll stick with the .51 myself.
If your worried about 1 getting bent up while fishing and not having another. Just carry a couple extra shafts, shrink tubing, and hooks and you can remake 1 in minutes on the water.
The net is what bends 90% of them............1 hook in the net and the other attached to an angry fish will take its toll on almost any bucktail.
Good luck
