There's your sign, this is a request for what...a free logo design, or are you offering to pay a graphic designer?

Keep your logo simple, especially if you are planning to use embroidery.

I would think most embroidery shops and screen printing companies could help you with a design. At least the ones I know are more than willing to help. Many have graphic designs to help in creating a design for you. Some are willing to help you for free or for a small fee.

My first thought is an outline picture of a muskie with "Guide Service" printed in the muskie and "Mike Hulbert" labeled above the picture. The simple design would allow using contrasting colors to help attract attention.

Note....use upper and lower characters......all caps are harder to read.....

Thanks, that's the goal I'm striving for. Entertaining B.S. Not just that same old every day load of B.S. that you can get just about anywhere. My B.S. is made with quality in mind.

Hey, wait a minute......what do you mean "usually"?

I'm a professional graphic designer that's been doing this gig for 11 years along with the degree in this industry. I'd be more than willing to help out Mike and Steve (or anyone for that matter) if you haven't already taken someone up on their offer. I can produce the logos in the correct format that you'd need for anything from vinyl decals/stickers of any and all sizes, embroidery for clothing, one color logos, two-color logos, four-color process logos to allow you flexibility and to meet your budget for printing/reproduction and, I'll supply high-res for print, low-res for web use, etc, etc.

Nothing would make me more happy than to take my talents and expertise to an industry that I'm passionate about: fishing.

However, let's talk off-line to talk timing, direction and details.

PM's sent to both Mike & Steve

I also have a graphics design professional who created mine. All you need is a idea or type of logo and he will take it from there and send you some samples which you can have him modify to your liking. He also includes stationary letterhead, envelope, and business cards along with the logo. He has many options which you need to talk with him about.

Contact me if interested.

Some of that work is nice, but try printing it...it's art not a logo. Have a pro do it and digitize it in Illustrator.
I here Mr Heibler did a nice ad for Baldy, talk to him. If you can find him. Rumor has it that he's not on the web any longer

I agree about the complexity issue. That one is more of a web based logo for sure. Here is the other logo I use which can be easilly reproduced. I also like simple easilly recognizable graphics for shirts and hats etc.
