I was wondering if the shimano calcutta rods are made with any fiberglass? Also, if anyone has any feedback on this product. Thanks--Todd

calcutta rods ? Shimano makes a few models of rods, Compre and Clarus are two of them. They are both reasonably priced and seem very durable. I would have to say based on the one that I am trying to sell that they don't have much f-glass in them. All of the fiberglass rods I have dealt with are a little more flexible while this Rod tends to be a bit stiff, even for MH/M. Fiberglass rods are typically heavier also, while the Compre is rather light. The Clarus is a lower end rod but still decent. I am unaware of a Calcutta line? so I can't be of use to you there.

Check the description of these rods on the Cabelas website. There is no indication of fg in them.

I got a calcutta Rod from Throne Bro's a few months ago... 8 FT.heavy... It can handle Mag. Dawgs, xxx buck tails, 9" Phantoms, and Cowgirls with no problem...

This rod is really light weight and a joy to use. At $245.00 I'm really going to get good use out of it.

I also just bought a Luna 300 to put on it, Should be a nice combo.

the Shimano Calcutta rod is from their Inshore series, not their Muskie series.
i use an 8' MXF as a heavy bucktail rod and i absolutely love it. great power, nice action.
they come in lengths up to 8' with lure ratings up to 4oz.

here's the info from the Shimano website...
