| I speak for myself when I say this and am not speaking for anyone that owns, runs or posts for this site. MuskieFIRST has the most visitors of any site on the web. Even though we have all this traffic it is also the best run site on the web. Bashing does not happen often and when it does it is taken care of. Recently I have witnessed a subtle attack on Steve Worrall by someone who runs another site. I've seen an attack on a very nice guy who also is a member of Muskies Inc. because of mistaken identity. Attack on other "big" names because they have voiced a view that is not "right" or is not popular. It's time for this to stop. The internet has become a place where you can take shots at people yet not use your real name. The ultimate place for a coward.
I urge you if you use the site to please register and ask questions, become involved. We are here for you to learn, meet nuts like yourself & have a good time.
Politics is for politicians...fishing is for fun.
Let's keep it that way.

| Well said Mr. Cady, I too am a refugee from some of the other boards that think the best way to make a so called "name" for themselves is to do this at someone elses expense. So far this has been a very nice and safe haven for us Muskie junkies to trade thoughts and ideas. It matters not what your level of expertise, only that you care to engage in the exchange of info and other, shall I say, entertaining items. Let's keep this the forum that we all want it to be. The best web site & message board period.

| I AGREE Mr. Caddy! I like the fact that this site is moderated,NO bashing.All you have to do is go to another web site and guess what? The bashing is there! I usually don't post unless I have an answer and very rarely do I post questions.This site is my home on the internet.Thanks for keeping it safe.Paul |

As I recall, this site was spawned as a result of people getting fed up with what was going on over at other sites. We've been given a nice place to play here. We've shown what kind of people frequent this site by taking action to help a little kid that none of us know.
The bickering is kept in check, and I like it that way. I like it when someone attempts to start a fire anonymously only to see it snuffed out.
So what if we have to put up with Spongebob. We are muskie fishermen damnit. We're crazy to begin with. And we are living proof that the inmates CAN run the asylum.

I myself have recently became a target on another board, all I did was ask a simple question and "WHAM" the unregistered users where all over me. It's a shame people or whatever you want to call them ruin it for guy's who really want to learn something!!!
I don't care who you are or what you "THINK" you know, there is always room to learn more. We "ALL" learn something new every day on the water, that goes for the "BIG" names too. I'm sure they will be the first to tell you that.

| The Honorable Thick Shady, I couldn't agree more. I used to have several muskie/fishing bbds that I visited on an almost daily basis, but no longer. One of the original bbds from way back I haven't been to in probably a year. The others you only have to visit once a month or so, and you see the bashing and blatant self-promotion that makes MuskieFIRST the only muskie site that gets my attention on a daily basis.
On a side note, if we are the inmates running the asylum, then "...Nurse Ratchett, I want my *#@!***^ cigarettes". [:p] |

| Fishing Message boards generally reflect the general philosophy/attitude of the anglers that frequent the forum. Eventually, the board will also reflect the website management's, as well.
MuskieFIRST has developed into a community, thanks to Steve Cady and Jason Smith. Jason and Steve are interested in content, discussing muskie fishing, and enjoying the sport; that is reflected in the work they do here.
I have been employed in the fishing business full time since 1974. The politics of fishing are no better or worse than any other sport, that is a sure thing. The internet has simply provided an open, generally unfettered place to voice one's platform, and many do!
Anglers will, because of human nature, take shots at each other. Some compete strongly, and even misbehave badly sometimes. I am pleased that our community leaders here keep that to a minimum! We are fortunate to have Jason Smith, Steve Cady, and Jason Long here. MuskieFIRST will continue to give these gents the tools they need to entertain, educate, and bring the average muskie angler the information we all crave! [:bigsmile:] [8)] |

| I continue to enjoy visiting this board, you folks are my favorite. The Central boards seems to fall victim to the occasional venom you mention, and it really does distract from the reason why most of us are here. Keep on ruling with an iron fist to keep this bs at a minimum. Your moderation is greatly appreciated.
I also visit fishin.com. They have had a devil of a time with their boards crashing, something about a hacker from Turkey? They also claim to be the busiest on the web and they have some real cranky folks that use up vaulable bits and bytes blowing off steam about whatever ails them. I sincerely appreciate the wealth of information I receive during my visits here and hope to see many of you next week .m[:bigsmile:] |

| MuskieFIRST is a class act,the rest are all second. You guys do a great job keeping this site clean. There will be arguments but thats how we learn. Well said in all the above posts. Keep up the good work,with the quality people using this site it will only get better.
Everyone can learn from the posts,there will be no end to how much we can learn, keep it up. |
