If one was to say want to sell a couple hundred muskie baits but doesn't have the time etc. to do e-bay how / where would be the best place to dump the whole lot?A lot of very expensive stuff too. What would be the best route?Should i buy a digital camera and become a slave to e-bay?We're talkin old pikies to 30 HR's. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Steve

Take it from me, someone who is always surprised at what people will pay on ebay, it is indeed worth the work. An auction gets people engaged in the "game" of bidding. Most people aren't smart enough to put in a proxy bid for their highest commitment and walk away. Maybe its because they don't understand proxy bidding? Anyway, it works to your (seller's) advantage. The amount of work you put into it can be managed. You don't have to sell them off as one's or two's or even three's. I had plenty of luck lotting similar baits together to number 5-10 baits. I wouldn't try to group 30 HR's together because you will limit the number of bidders who will have interest in your loot, due to lack of funds.

IMHO - the people on who are in the know about what this stuff is worth, won't pay as much as the people who don't know where to get it will, ala ebay.

You don't need a digital camera. Group the items you want to sell into lots you think will have a large number of bidders. Take a picture of the items with a white or light back ground, close up. Develop the roll and take the photos to the library. They can show you how easy it is to scan them and save them to a place like www.baypal.com (a fee picture hosting service). Then all you have to do is create your auctions on ebay, link to the hosted pictures, and wait for the money to start pouring in via Paypal or money orders.

ps. If you have any HR's you will part with, one off, please drop me a line.

Whew, Lunch Box knows his stuff! Steve, let him sell them for you for a comission?

Um, my fee for my tip is one half of one percent of the net gain, or, a very cool bait donated to the Ashton Fund Auction. Thanks.

Hey,I've got an idea,I also have 2 Sage bucktail rods i want to sell. Here's the deal.If someone buys one rod for 200 ,i will donate the other to the Ashton fund.I've been unemployed for 3 mo. and money is very tight.I will probably end up putting the baits on e-bay.Might take a few days but keep your eyes open.Started inventory this afternoon and have 172 "hard" baits and haven't gotten to the hair yet. Thanks all fdor your input. Steve

I sell lots of stuff on ebay, and you can go to sites that show the baits your selling and copy that picture onto a disk then it will be a lot easier to copy onto ebay. A good site would be obviously muskyshop.com (Rollie and Helens).

Hope this helps,
