| I have a friend who swears there is a differance between the old Depth Raiders and the new ones. He says he hasn't had any luck with the new ones, but has caught many on the originals. PS He's looking for his favorite one, the night shiner/ original type. He says they're too expensive on ebay, would like to find them elsewhere. |

| I wish I knew what the difference is. Bucher either sold or licenced the Depth Raiders to a different manufacturer a couple years ago. They look alike, but my friend still insists that they don't produce. |

| Latest info I have; A lower density plastic is being used, and the rattling beads are different. |

Location: Musky Tackle Online, MN | They're using different hooks now than on the older versions. According to one of their sales reps, that's the only difference.

Location: Iowa City, Iowa | At the 2006 Chicago Musky Show Joe Bucher gave a poolside demo (01.14.06). According to my notes, he talked about Depth Raiders being made out ABS & Butyrate. He stated that the DRs with rattles are made of ABS & do not dive as deep as those made from Butyrate. Of course, the weight of hooks can affect the depth of the dive. Do the "new DRs" have rattles? Are both models (with & without rattles) still available? |
