| How about we try and set up an outing for the whole family (wifes, girlfriends and kids). Have it somewhere where you have access to a park and a lake. A big picnic type deal!!!!
Plenty of food and fun, take the kids out for panfish, sounds like a good time.
The family deservers it, think about how often they sit at home waiting for us to come home from fishing.
Your talking about getting the kids involved, well here you go![] |

| Great idea. One day thing or a weekend?? When and where. Whether we make it all depends on time and location.

|
| Great idea guys....Late July would be a great time...A south central Wisc. lake would be best like Mad chain? Then the family's from MN and IL can attempt to make the drive. |

| Kids and wives...count me OUT OUT OUT!!!

*nice idea, but why? |

| Steve, there's two lakes down in the Platteville area that are supposed to be good for ski's. I think one is in Gov. Dodge State Park. (Names maybe Twin Valley and Yellowstone??) Could do a weekend thing. Friday and Saturday night. Camp with the families and all. I think Madison area would be too metro for a larger group. There are also some county parks with camping either on or close to Petenwell Flowage. I have never fished any of these lakes so it's all hearsay as far as productivity. Of course if you are in the Petenwell area there's numerous places within driving distance all along the Wisconsin River too. Not to mention a bunch of smaller lakes within an hour.
We could get some of our river fishermen to teach us a thing or two about presentation and location in current??
Maybe the third weekend in July or so?? Could try to reserve a block of campsites and go from there. Just an idea. The wife's been buggin' me to take her camping the last couple of years.

| Slamr,
You are the crabbiest SOB on the planet. Hope you feel better soon. Remember, fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering. Think about it.

| Musky Illini,
I didn't even realize we knew each other....but I have to say you basically have nailed it on the head with the Crabby Award. Nice quote, but no one has ever considered me to be anywhere but on the dark side of the force.

| Hey we could somehow combine the pewaukee swap fundraiser with the family get together. They have food and stuff, the ramp is right there to fish and maybe Jason can give more rides in his boat. A bar/restaurant is across the parking lot. Just a thought. |

|
| Theedz155,
Something in Wisc. would be ideal, we might get a better turn out that way. I like the idea of camping, the family loves to camp. There's Shabbona in Illinois, state park great fishing for every species, camp grounds are nice, might be too far for people to travel, don't know where everyone is coming from. |

|
| MF I can make a couple of phone calls and see what I can find about the Petenwell area. I know that with the online campsite reservations the State parks are usually booked way out. My wife tried to get a site last year and basically gave up because they were so busy. I'll see if there are any county or private grounds up in that neck of the woods.
I'll keep ya posted. |

| Slamr,
I feel dumber now too for thinking that anyone would get that one.
That was a quote from Greedo in Return of the Jedi. Its translation is..."I have been waiting for this moment for a long time"..you are no Jedi.

| I think the swap at Smokey's would be a great time! |

|
| Steve, what are the dates for the Smokey's get together this year. I know there is a county campground about 5 mins away, Nagawicka Park, that has camping. It's not on Pewaukee but real close. Don't know how busy that gets anymore. Maybe Jason has a clue on that one. There's also a state park down near Dousman off Hwy 67. Drawing a blank on name right now. Jason, any ideas???

| Waukesha county park
Kettle mairane state forest.
Both would work. |
