I just saw the flip over rear casting deck/seat on the Lund Classics. ( http://www.lundboats.com/1775_1660_classic_07.html ) The unit flips down to offer a larger rear casting deck and then flips up into two seats. It hinges to the rear deck. I am thinking that this would be the answer on my 200 Lund Angler 1700. I could then use the boat as a true FISH/Family boat. I was told that Lund does not sell the unit seperately.

I am looking for suggestions on material to use for the construction. I am thinking about plactic composite materials to resist water. I hav read previous posts regarding casting decks but still have questions.

I've been contemplating this as well. I picked up a 2002 1675 Explorer and would really like something like this in my boat. Great seating for kids, wife, friends and huge casting deck for my fishing partner or myself.

So far, I think I'm going to build my casting deck a bigger using the pedestal bases and posts for support plus carpet it so it looks nice. That is unless I can find a decent flip over rear casting/seating deck

I filled in the open space in the bow in our old fish/ski boat. I would suggest plastic (or treated plywd) stainless steel hardware, galvanized hinges, & aluminum angles.

I should have looked in the Archives before creating the topic "Casting deck, Boat modifications. I guess that's what happens when I work nights

Anyone know if there is a way to purchase the flip over rear casting deck/seat that are on the Lund Classics?

Thanks!!

It looks like a great option. I would be interested in this too. I always feel sorry for the poor guy in back casting w/o a platform. This would take care of it ! Let me know what you learn.

I went to Crystal Pierz in Rogers, MN on Monday. I was given the number to a gal that makes the casting deck/bench seats for them. Her name is Judy and her number is 320-584-5480.
I was going to look into this but it doesn't look like I'll have the money to make this happen on my boat this year. I think for the mean time I'll have to build a removable casting deck that others have suggested.

Have a great season!!

I have a rear casting deck built from wood that I do not need anymore. If anyone is interested in it I would be happy to send pics.

It is something that can be used stand alone or could easily be anchored to your boat floor or walls. PM me if interested, I'm just trying to get it out of my garage so it would be cheap.
