What the heck is the cable attached to the roller on my trailer for? and how the does the darn thing work? I admit this is probably a dumb question but I forgot to ask when I got the boat and have yet to figure out what to do with it. Thanks

That is a shallow water launcher. It's designed to get the boat up off the bunks to launch more easily at a shallow ramp.

Sweet!!! So do I just hook the looped end to the winch and crank it up a bit? Thanks for the assistance.

That's all you do. I had one on my KayDee Launcher on my last Tuffy. Used it once or twice on a shallow landing.

Another added trick:
Every month or so during the open water season, spray the carpeting on the bunks with silicone lubricant spray. Cheap, easy to do, and the boat will FALL off the trailer. Be VERY careful not to unhook the winch until you want the boat to head off the trailer, though, because it literally will fall off.

Hey Steevie......Your right about the silicone......Boat just falls off!!!! I lost a good friend by recommending silicone......His boat ended up on the concrete at the launch.....Make sure you don't take the hook off while launching.....
