Location: Medford, WI | Hey guys,
Hope someone can help me out and I'm sure they'll be able to. I'm guessing it's probably a rather simple process, but last night after sanding down some baits, I decided I want to try to add weight to some jackpots. I'm guessing putting it in where the back screw/hook goes would be the place to add weight, however I don't know what to use to add weight and how I would put the screw/hook back in if I added weight there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You Guys, Jake Bucki |

| I haven't purchased a jackpot in years but they used to weight them in the spot you are talking when they build them. |

Location: KY | I put two coats of ETex on mine. It added enough weight to make it run lower in the water. The ETex is much better than the factory finish also. If you ever put a buldawg next to one you will know what I am talking about.

Location: Medford, WI | Bruce, I know what you mean! Didn't get mine too bad though...but yes, I thought if I couldn't find a way to weigh them with weights, I would put on some layers of envirotex.
Thanks so far guys, anyone else I'd love to hear your input.
Thanks, Jake |

Location: Medford, WI | Toad, are you talking about the December/January issue??? I'm a subscriber and that's the latest one I received, however there's nothing that I can see in there about weighing topwaters. Now that you mention it I remember reading an article about customizing topwaters to your preference, but can't remember if it was in MH or EA. If you could, let me know which issue it is.
Thank You again, Jake |
